Perth 4WD and Adventure Show

Watch out for Jillaroo Jess!

The 4WD and Adventure Shows are excited to announce a new special guest at the Show this year!

Best known to her thousands of social media followers as “Jillaroo Jess”, Jess Edwards is one Aussie sheila with a story to tell!

With experience mustering and working on a horse stud in Queensland, Edwards headed west to Karratha in 2014 with the intention of driving trucks in mines, and had gained her Heavy Rigid licence and then Multi Combination learners within days. Plans stalled though, when no one with a trucking job on offer wanted to know about a young, female applicant. So, she headed off to gain some experience and after three months of harvesting in southern WA, returned to the Pilbara and scored the truck driving job she’s been looking for almost immediately.

After deciding the mine atmosphere wasn’t for her, Edwards decided to return to the land, ending up on a cattle station where she takes care of fencing, windmill and bore pump maintenance, mustering, cattle work, general property upkeep and carting cattle between stations by road train.

Between all of this, Jillaroo Jess has somehow managed to maintain her online presence – firstly through her blog jillaroojess.com, and later, when she grew too time poor to continue with the site, through her Facebook page, where a tongue-in-cheek truck safety video she posted in September 2016 went viral, catapulting her profile to in excess of 50,000 followers who check in every day to see her posts. Lately, Jess has been kept busy with Terrain Tamer TV, working alongside the infamous Allan Gray.

Terrain Tamer are set to release a series of mechanical videos, due for release in November 2017, that feature 27 year old Jess with 83 year old Allan.

The dynamic duo will be at the 4WD and Adventure Shows in Sydney, Adelaide and Perth this year thanks to Terrain Tamer. You can catch Jess and Allan on the Engel Bush Camp stage and at Terrain Tamer’s site at the Shows; and as always, Allan will be on hand to answer all your questions on diesel engines.
